Wood Choices for Conference Tables
Where Your Table Gets Its Personality
Most of our tables are made out of wood. For an explanation of what types we use and why, please see our FAQ page. This page is an introduction to the wide variety of species that we use and color options for our wood conference room tables.

Each species of tree has a characteristic color, texture, and grain pattern. It is possible to modify a wood’s color by staining it. The photos below show our most commonly used woods, along with our standard stain variations. There are three groups: woods that can be used for any part of the table, woods that are best suited for the table’s top center, and two finishes we use for table bases. If you are trying to match a wood that you don’t see here, send us a sample or a picture. Chances are good that we will be able to find it for your custom wood conference tables.
At the bottom of the page, you will see two examples of ebonized finishes. (Ebonizing is a fancy woodworker’s way of saying that we painted it black.) We often use these finishes for table bases.
All of these photos are small and can’t truly represent the way the wood will look in a large expanse. Our table photos will give you a much better sense of that.
It’s important to understand that no photo can accurately represent the appearance of the finished wood conference room tables. By the time the data has passed through the camera, the monitor, and the printer, the color has changed. Wood also has a rich grain that cannot be reproduced. We are happy to provide color samples on the actual wood for you to inspect in your location. This is the only way to ensure a satisfactory choice.
These woods are suitable for all parts of the table. They are available as both solids and veneers.
These woods are veneers, chosen for their spectacular grain. They are used for table tops.
These ebonized finishes are used on table bases. The ebonized MDF is used in our standard grade tables.
