Our Building Process
With every round conference table project, our specialists start with an idea from a client or a potential issue that a client needs to solve. All our design suggestions tend to be one-of-a-kind, and our process allows us to assemble a variety of small and large conference tables using the latest techniques, advanced technologies, and an extensive list of materials. At every stage of the design and building process, our specialists work together to address your needs. Let’s take a more detailed look at our process.
Design & Engineering
When Paul Downs design engineers begin working on custom conference tables, they use the 3D modeling program Sketchup. This program creates a precise representation of what your round conference table will look like in your business space. When you approve the sketch, it will be used to make an accurate set of building plans that consist of comprehensive drawings. After a collaborative review, the plans go to our carpenters along with a set of files that are loaded into the computer-controlled cutting machine.
Choosing the Best Wood & Materials
Our design engineers suggest the best materials for your round conference table, and our project managers provide actual samples to test in your space. After you choose the materials that you want, our carpenters will go to the woodpile to find the best pieces for your table. No two pieces are the same, so our craftsmen evaluate characteristics such as the figure, color, and knots. Our team also assesses any glass, laminate, metals, and stone before integrating them into your table.

Table Parts & Initial Assembly
Our U.S.-based workshop has a CNC router, which is a machine that cuts the pieces for small and large conference tables using a set of files from the project plans. Then, Paul Downs skilled carpenters use an assortment of other machines and tools to assist with cutting, drilling, gluing, and shaping the metal and wood parts. Next, they assemble the handcrafted tables and make sure that everything fits perfectly, including the hardware and any special features, such as power outlets.
Finishing Touches, Assembly, & Inspection
To protect the wood in your round conference table, our experts will disassemble it to apply a finish and sealant to each piece. You can choose from a wide array of finishing colors and textures, which you can mix and match. We can use dyes, paints, and stains to make your table look how you want. Then, the team will reassemble the table to ensure that every part still fits together flawlessly. Finally, the project managers will perform a quality assessment.

Packing & Shipping Your Round Conference Table
Since we ship round custom conference tables across the continent and world, we take several precautions to prevent any damage. Every table is disassembled so that we can clean and securely wrap each part in foam and an outer layer of cardboard. Next, we place the pieces on a customized pallet, shrink-wrap them together, secure them to the pallet with steel straps and add an outer wall of protection. You’ll receive upfront pricing for shipping with no hidden costs or fees.
