Incredible craftsmanship doesn’t always look flashy. It’s not always about color, or amazing woods. Sometimes it’s just about doing a difficult task, perfectly. There are 542 pieces of walnut on this table top, which is 20 feet long. Each of them touches 6 other pieces. This was all cut and pieced together by Ryan Bardsley, our veneer master. There are no gaps between any of the pieces, anywhere on the top. In order to do this, Ryan had to cut all of the pieces to exactly the correct dimension, tape them all together into large sheets, and then position those sheets on the substrate so that every seam lines up. Hats off to Ryan for making this work!
