Recently, Paul Downs spoke at the Bala Cynwyd Library in support of his book, Boss Life: Surviving My Own Small Business.
During that talk, Paul related quite a few stories about business, writing, woodworking, marketing, sales, and manufacturing. He revealed how challenges and opportunities can present themselves and how some “unexpected” occurrences can make-or-break your business.
While experiencing both hardships (the opening of trade barriers), opportunities (the Internet), and the unexpected (just missing the accident), Paul has built a company that thrives and is currently celebrating 30 years of American Craftsmanship and Innovation. The truck at the centerpiece of the above story was recently donated. After many years, the engine blew and it was given to a local charity to be rebuilt or sold.
